Your totally correct and I have the 40D i could use, but the 5D Mark II has much better image quality, so I'd rather have that then the extra zoom. Just for the record I don't own any of these lenses, I was just reviewing them. The IS is incredible on the L model, but other than that it's almost the same optical performance as the non-L. It's like 5-10% better for 50% more money! lol Normally the Non L versions aren't as good as this particular model in my experience. Best, Jay Hello John,
